He was a good, honorable, honest man. He performed his service to our State with honor and capability. He served. And this is from a far lefty older white guy. Respect. Rest in Power Secretary Richardson.

He was a rarity in modern politics: A person who told you exactly what he stood for and why he stood for it. He was not duplicitous, nor was he guarded about his intentions. He stood on his own merit and stood up to anyone who questioned it. I disagreed with him vigorously to the end, but I knew the man had a more open ear and mind than many of his contemporaries. He was an asset to Oregon's political discourse, and for that he will be missed.
