One of my favorite story threads was the Big Lebowski reference. It makes little sense in a first time view, but a heck of a lot more humorous if you saw previous MCU movies. There are many self-deprecating references (in a funny way) to other character performances in previous films. Hence, never seeing a previous version of any of the films, difficult to understand the laughs or cheers.
