A major vehicle collision on North Greeley Avenue in North Portland left two people dead Wednesday morning, and led to a shut down of the intersection of Greeley and North Going.
From a media release from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB):
"It appears a white sedan driving south on North Greeley Avenue crossed the center line and crashed into a gray SUV that was driving north. The driver and passenger of the white sedan died as a result of the crash."

The crash also disrupted TriMet's Route 35 bus, which connects North Portland to the downtown area and runs on North Greeley.
UPDATE: For Line 35 trips to University of Portland, no service to the stop at N Greeley & Going Overpass (Stop ID 2195) due to a non-TriMet collision near N Greeley & Going. Returning to regular route toward Oregon City TC.

Portland's 2019 traffic fatality count was already eclipsing recent years' numbers before this collision—as of this time last month, the count stood at 17, causing transportation activists to call for increased road safety measures.
