With Bold New Plan, Regal and Cinemark Theaters Continue Campaign to Make Going to Movies Less and Less Fun

Wow. So they've gone full retard. Great! This was exactly why I cut the cable years ago. I couldn't stand paying for the "privilege" of having cable only to be advertised to.

Wasn't there a lawsuit years and years ago with the result that movies had to start at their advertised time, which is why they originally moved the ads to before the advertised showtime (they used to be, like the article describes now, before the previews but after the advertised start time)? Did that just...go away?

They have so much leveraged buyout debt to pay off, they have to find more revenue streams. Haven't been to a theater in years because of all the ads. But this move will definitely keep me away for good.
