Good morning, Portland! It's COLD. Our two days of autumn have come to a close. Sunday was Portland's coldest September day in more than 70 years, leaving nearly a foot of snow at Mt. Hood's Timberline Lodge.

Here's the news you may have missed this weekend whilst trying to remember where you stuffed your winter coat.

Crying War: Donald Trump suggested the impeachment inquiry against him could spark a "civil war" in the United States, which is definitely not a threat to his ever-growing list of reasonable critics. At the same time, Joe Biden's campaign team is trying to convince major TV outlets to keep Rudy Giuliani off the air. Good luck with that.

FYI: Here's an incredibly handy website to help you stay on top of the country's impeachment chaos!

Hong Kong Unrest Continues: Sixty cities marched in solidarity with Hong Kong's anti-totalitarianism protests Sunday. China will celebrate its 70th anniversary as a communist state on Tuesday.

Mall Attack? A man is facing terrorism charges after driving an SUV through an Illinois mall. Three people were injured in the alleged attack, but no one sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver is believed to have a mental illness.

Paging Jane Mayer:

Dispatch From: A butt convention.

Going, Going, Gone: Car2go is ending its service in Portland. While there are several other vehicle rental apps to rely on, I will miss the important moments I spent zipping around town in the company's tiny clown cars.

Union Updates: Unions representing thousands of Oregon public university employees and Fred Meyer workers have both reached tentative deals with their employers. Will they stick?

Non-Binary Barbie: Mattel has released a new line of gender neutral Barbie dolls that... look more like children than gender nonconforming adults. But, as Portland's own Molly Woodstock explains to NPR, the new dolls are still a step in the right direction. In Woodstock's words:"I feel like this is both good and mildly problematic."

FUN FILM NEWS: Regal Cinema and Cinemark movie theaters are about to increase the number of ads they play before a feature film. The Mercury's Erik Henriksen breaks it down.
