My favorite thing to know about artists is "how they pay the rent." I know that Blankets was hugely successful. But was it enough to keep him afloat for six years straight while he made Habibi? Or does he also have to have a side job (or was he doing regular freelance work, like the Menomena art)?
Petty questions... but I'm just curious!

SAVE ME WHITE PEOPLE! Gawd, this book is such Orientalist schlock. I am not surprised Powells Books featured his culturally-appropriating ass for months. Has he even met any brown people? This IS Portland, after all.
