Although I didn't initially vote for Amanda Fritz, I've been really happy to see her be the voice of dissent amongst a council that's full of, as you said, glad-handers or oily hobnobbers.
I'm sort of a swing voter on Mayor Adams, and I could care less about the scandal from a couple years ago. I like Steve Novick and if he runs against Adams, that's a tough decision for me, but would love a guy like him to replace guys like Leonard and Saltzman, both of whom I'm sick of.
To be fair, I was more placing Fritz on a political continuum than actively affixing labels to her colleagues. But she certainly has been willing to be the voice of dissent. Has it always been effective? That remains a question.
