Fish's implication is that nobody should work from the outside to approach the very regulations and laws at the core of many issues, but rather attempt to trudge trough the bureaucratic tangle of restrictions that has created the holes in the safety net that R2D2 and Cameron are trying to fill. Working inside the safety net system as opposed to approaching the regulations in effect is not going to alter the fundamental situation right now. Fish's response amounts to a dismissive hand wave - "Oh they've got people on that already. Stop whining." It's not good enough.

I hate to be dour about a worthy cause, but I happened to have met Cameron back in Feb. or so, when he was running for mayor, and he struck me as a narcissistic clown. This was at Backspace, before a show, and the guy kept butting into my conversation with a friend to talk about himself and what a great mayor he would make. He knew little about City Hall, but had grand ideas about himself.

Anyway, glad he's bringing attention to homelessness, but the attention-grabbing stunt is isn't a surprise.

Please wait...
