@Fruit Cup, I'm no friend to passive-aggressive whiners, but this person is not passive-aggressive -- he/she is trying to do his/her job. Have you ever, in your job, told off a customer? Bet you didn't keep your job long if you did! As someone who *has* worked in customer service, I can tell you that, after the customers are out of earshot, sometimes we just need to let off steam about some of the stupid/abusive/inconsiderate sh*t they do in order to be able to hold it together when the next jackass comes along.
