Heh, fucking humans. Sorry you were treated soo poorly by people who OBVIOUSLY have shit self-esteem and compensate with a shitty attitude. You could've been a valuable ally. Meh, their loss.

Btw, NO human has the right to fucking weight 350 lbs! Not unless you're 7'6"+.

Stop eating so much.

They should call it what it is, an Obese circle jerk. I'm glad you took the high road and are focusing on your health rather than trying to fit in with a herd of cattle. These events make me sick. Yes we should accept all kinds of body types but promoting and accepting obesity is not helping these people. There needs to be a broader focus on health in this society and massive cutback on the intake of sugars.

They're just upset because somebody that wasn't morbidly obese made them feel uncomfortable being in their own skin. Next time tell them that an hour of Jazzercise three to six times a week would make them not have to register to events like this.

I,A, Sorry that you had such a terrible time. Unfortunately, there are people that are judgmental in all social circles. When I attend these, I appreciate when there are people of all sizes there. So, even if you weren't appreciated by the other people there, I appreciate you for being there.

Wow, this may be the first time I've ever completely agreed with one of DamosA's comments. As a girl in that same weird limbo range, I totally feel your pain. I feel less awkward and unwelcome being the "fat" girl in most clothing stores than I do being the "skinny" girl in plus sized stores. It's a shame so many people hear "body acceptance" as "A great excuse to be the judgmental bitch you couldn't be in high school!" rather than "Hey, how about we all stop being judgmental bitches?"

I'm with HatersGonHate....First time EVER agreeing with DamosA. See, we can all agree on something....it just takes awhile!

I think size 14 women are sexy as hell! You got curves and at that size you won't be a stick figure that has no breasts. Just be comfortable with who you are, hopefully whatever weight you settle at, you won't let criticism from others bother you they're just jealous.

Ahhh, I can't say I would be comfortable with a women that weighs 350lbs, that's just very unhealthy. I hope those women lose weight before they have heart attacks.

All fat people should be forcible sterilized, so as not to breed fat children.

I apologize, but i saw that people here were actually agreeing with me. I cannot have that.

DamosA cares way too fucking much about this shit. Every god damn week, he says to himself 'Now what is the most dismissive, polarizing thing I can possibly say in response to this column in this crappy weekly newspaper?'

You need a fucking hobby, dude. Being Lord High Troll of I, Anonymous isn't nearly as impressive as you seem to think it is.

Heh, I was waiting for the DamosA backlash. Since I actually agree with him this week HornedGramma, I feel the need to say that: a) you're not saying anything he hasn't heard many, many times before, b) if you're annoyed by trolls, it is counterproductive to leave trollfood like that lying around, and c) near as I can tell, he enjoys the fuck out of being the Lord High Troll of the Mercury, while you on the other hand are annoyed to the point of expletives and scrolling through the comments of a "crappy weekly newspaper" handing out ironic hobby prescriptions. I'm pretty sure he's winning.

@12 ~ Oh, snap! That was pretty awesome.
@DamosA ~ "Btw, NO human has the right to fucking weight 350 lbs! "
For someone who is so passionate about freedom, you sure seem to want to curtail the freedoms of those you don't agree with. Such as breeders, smokers, christians & now overweight people. It's their fucking skin, how about we all let them live in their own bodies without hating on them?

And for anyone who believes that the majority of overweight people are that way due to pure gluttony & laziness, that is the epitome of ignorance. There are 3 primary causes of obesity ~ genetics, medical issues, & psychological issues. In fact, the obese humans that i have taken the time to speak with & get to know as human beings were all women, & ALL of them, save 1 ( & she had a medical condition), had been sexually abused. i use alcohol to deal with my issues, they use food. And it serves a 2-fold purpose. First, it creates a barrier between them & men. It makes them physically unattractive & hence less likely to be abused. ( i do this myself by dressing like a man, most of the time). Second, as with anorexia, it gives them a control over their bodies that had been taken from them. And unless you have experienced that loss of power over your own body, you have no idea how overwhelming & devastating it can be.

i'm not saying that this applies to everyone. i am not trying to generalize. i am just saying that we are ALL human beings with our own stories. Our own tragedies & griefs. Try to remember that when you see someone & have a reaction of disgust at their physical appearance. You don't know their story. So, don't judge.

This is just one example of why many people don't join organizations, clubs, participate in religious organizations any longer. University has become a way of extending adolescence into ones 30's, even 40's. In my personal experience, I've been subjected to "not gay enough", "too gay", "not Jewish enough", "ok, ok, we get it- you're Jewish." People have become their children, (providing they've reproduced). It's tiring, disappointing, and just not worth it! The synagogue clearly doesn't need my money, nor participation, and anyone I cleaned up vomit for in their final stages of AIDS is dead, and their cohorts spend their time turning the disease into some sort of religion. Tie this to the subject at hand; I've lived with, and had a lifelong friendship with someone 330+ lbs. I got sick of watching him sit a large pizza on his gut, with a 2 litre bottle of 'Barq's Diet', adjust his insulin, then bemoan how society needs to catch up and begin to accept plus-sized people. We're also supposed to 'get over' the skin-rot in the folds, the smell, the morbidity of it, and have at it with someone with advanced cellulitis. I'm with the writer on this one; 'Fuck all them all and the 'Rascal' they rode in on.'

Please wait...
