That's very kind of you to stop and try to offer help to someone that seemed like they needed it...but come on. Stopping like that in Portland?...you got lucky, because that should have been obvious from the start that it was a trick to lure you in. Don't be a fool.

@asiri I'm confused by the "in Portland" part of your comment. As though Portland isn't ridiculously safe compared to other cities. Like, crazy ridiculously safe.

Still, the obvious solution would be to stay in your car and call the cops to come check it out.

If you don't know now, let me inform you: Portland is full of substance abusers, criminals, released sexual predators, and lazy bums who live here because the weather is nicer than wherever they are from: Ohio, Michigan, New Jersey etc. Crime is going WAYYYYY up, and yet the papers won't tell you because they want all those recently built apartments filled up.

I stop to help people in Portland all the time. This guy got lured into a trap. There are so many crazy fucking meth heads in Portland right now, and they're living on the rivers and under the freeway overpasses-- more than I've ever seen and I've been here for 30 years. There's been an influx of both wealth and poverty in our city. Rich motherfuckers are now side by side with desperate and mentally ill homeless people who are getting high and running in gangs. I don't even ride my bike home along the waterfront anymore unless it's raining-- the rain keeps the zombies at bay.

Y'all are some overly paranoid motherfuckers.

Isn't Portland pretty high up there on the sex trafficking list? Along with a handful of other types of crimes? Portland is by no means a safe place, just oddly full of very trusting people in population full of transients. Can't blame people for being nice, but you can blame them for being naïve.

Please wait...
