@ RED DIAMOND- that is a great argument if we want to ignore the always present other side of the coin. In reality it helps local people in portland survive, THAT is where the majority of the dollar goes.

@ REV BITE ME- keep your problems to yourself because guess what? YOUR CITY COUNSEL DOES NOT LISTEN TO YOU. Try it, see how it goes, and please do let me know. We need people with money and lawyers and a game changing idea at the table. See them as your tool not your enemy. Besides they did not ask anyone anything, they just did it. In this fashion power really is in the people; if we use it then that means we got what we wanted, if we don't then goodbye uber.

@spaceman- division was always a shit show. Nobody is trying to dress portland up like the big boys, we just want cheaper cabs and to give a finger to city officials who think they can dictate everything.

WE NEED A LONG TERM FUCKING PUBLIC FORUM FOR SHIT LIKE THIS. WEEKLY FRAGMENTED ARTICLES AND LETTERS TO THE EDITOR IS NOT GOING TO CUT IT.

FUCK YOU MAYOR HALES YOUR DUMB. AND ALL YOUR BUDDIES TOO.

It may be important for everyone to keep in mind that if they don't like Uber, THEY DON'T HAVE TO USE IT! Nobody is considering making it compulsory.

Please wait...
