Oh, I say, chaps, you really dug into the distant past for this one. Did you know that Edgar Bergen was a lousy ventriloquist? Perfect for radio, however, as his lips moved. Couldn't throw his voice worth a tinker's damn.
But funny? His fights with W C Fields were choice, quite delightful in the whole. Though Bergan's lips moving was more than a little off-putting.
Thanks for the memory lane trip, however do you really think the average slack-jawed twenty something knows what a ventriloquist is? Or remember Bergan and his dummies? Or even radio? (It's that box in your mother's bed room that rings in the mornings from which music occassionally sounds.)
