Damn it, Ms. Romano! How can it be that you would mention nothing in this week's One Day at a Time about the death of the woman that inspired your name and the name of your column!!??

Dear "Ann Romano" -- whatever your actual name is -- why do you have to rag on Anne Hathaway so bitterly? Is it because she's everything you're not? Young, talented, fantastically beautiful, slim, uses her own name -- you can fill in the rest of the list. Unlike some of the authentic train wrecks upon whom you semi-justifiably heap your scorn and derision, Anne Hathaway does not deserve it, so lay off! Now blow me, quick, I double-parked to send you this.

I think the point is satire, not to actually be scornful of Anne Hathaway. Everyone who's seen her career can tell she has been much more grounded than most who reach her level of celebrity so young.
