The Virgin Marry

-Happily Married Woman is indeed quite the smug cunt. But i would correct Dan in saying that her smugness and self-satisfaction are actually VERY typically christian-like behavior, and it's EXACTLY the sort of thing you can expect from these people all the time. You'd think that this breeder were too goddamned busy raising her traditional nuclear family and (so far) 2.1 brats to find the time to write a GAY sex columnist just to gloat about her supposedly wonderful life.

But it's all good b/c both her and her future ex-husband/abuser have a long time for them to both realize just how badly they fucked up. Unfortunately, the lives of their spawn will be ruined in the process - as kids typically end up as collateral damage in such situations.

Damosa, this may have been the realest shit you ever posted. However, im not sure why you would label the husband as a future abuser.

"However, im not sure why you would label the husband as a future abuser."

Uhm, evangelical/traditional patriarch-male - typical profile is KNOWN to abuse/beat women and use the holy bible to do so. I don't mean using what i says in the bible to justify treating women like chattel, i mean physically using a large hard-bound bible to bludgeon helpless women into submission.

This is what evangelical men are known for. Evangelical women typically suffer from chronic Stockholms syndrome.

Damosa has a point in assuming that an evangelical husband will have a high chance of being abusive towards his wive. If he is evangelical in the sense of "blieves the bible is true", he kind of has to.

1Cr 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman [is] the man; and the head of Christ [is] God.

1Cr 14:34
Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but [they are commanded] to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

1Pe 3:1
Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives

Eph 5:22 following
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

Col 3:18
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

1Ti 2:11
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

Well, point to be made, DamosA, I grew up in a evangelical household, but in that household the abuser was first my mother then my brother. So while I pretty much agree entirely with your post, you can't eliminate the possibility that it is the Smug, Self-righteous, possibly self deceiving and taking-the-time-to-write-about-how-right-she-is-to-the gay-sex-columnist woman who is abusing her husband.

Never the less there is the possibility of such a situation working out. I did stay a virgin until I was married, as did my husband, but both of us were severely traumatized as children-- he was raised in a cult atmosphere (but without creepy child abuse) and I was molested (but not raped) from an early age. I don't know how sexually compatible we are, but we are very mentally and emotionally compatible, and (probably due to the trauma) not very hung up on sex. We've worked hard on this marriage and (as far as I can tell at the moment) going strong.

That being said, other than finding someone who's mentally and emotionally compatible with you and working hard on your marriage, I wouldn't recommend this path to anyone.

Well congratulations to you, NAGINI KALI! And yes you're totally right. It's NOT always the patriarch who's the abuser. I stand corrected.

Hey, what happened to comment #2? What is going on here?

If you are an evangelical christian, you are ipso facto STUPID. And please give us a break with the BS about it not being a "political statement." America's domestic politics are basically a fight between those of you trying to impose your religion in law and everyone who understands what constitutional rights are.

Please wait...
