UPDATE:
It's with a heavy heart I've got to bump this one. It just came to my attention that headliner Mike Drucker, whose video I posted below, just bailed on the weekend's shows. No reason was provided. In his place, Randy Mendez and Coree Spencer have come aboard.

I was going to drum up a few words about Kevin Hart, who's headlining Helium this weekend. Then I found out all the shows are sold out. So for those of you who have tickets, enjoy—no push needed.

But Hart's shows aren't the only stand up worth checking out this weekend. For my money—which is paper thin and must be spent wisely—I'd line up for Porseattland, two shows curated and hosted by Portland Amateur Contest Winner Ian Karmel, bringing comics together from the NW I-5 corridor. Most of the stand ups involved are from Portland, but Seattle denizen Mike Drucker, who's written for SNL and The Onion, headlines both Friday and Saturday's shows. The following video's visual quality is poor, but the jokes are what matter—and they're great:

Friday: Mike Drucker, Ian Karmel, Shane Torres, Christian Ricketts, Jen Allen, Jessie McCoy. 10pm. $6. Brody Theater, 16 NW Broadway.

Saturday: Mike Drucker, Ian Karmel, Shane Torres, Ron Funches, Timmy Williams, John McKay, Barbara Holm. 8pm. $10. Brody Theater, 16 NW Broadway.

Or, if you want to send your laughs and dollars to a good cause, consider this show on Saturday:

Stand-up benefit for Beverly Cleary School. Dave Anderson, Susan Rice, Art Krug. 8pm. $25/ $20 advance. McMenamins Mission Theater & Pub, 1624 NW Glisan St.
