Bridgetown Comedy Festival founder Andy Wood guests this week on Jimmy Dore's Comedy and Everything Else podcast. Wood talks about the festival's founding, the highs and lows, and about his recent move to L.A. in pursuit of a career in comedy.

Andy Wood on Comedy and Everything Else

It's pretty impressive how quickly the festival has grown. The first year featured about 60 comics. This year, the fourth, already has 180 booked. I wouldn't be surprised to see that number grow—as Wood told Dore, the first year, about two weeks before the festival he got a call from Patton Oswalt who wanted to perform. As it happened, Oswalt's show basically saved the festival, allowing it to break even. This year's lineup is now available at Bridgetown's site.

Also there, passes are one sale until the end of the month (that is, until Thursday). Sixty bucks gets you into all the shows (April 21-24). It's one hell of a deal. That's 33 cents a comic, people. Don't sleep on it.
