Sound of Young America host Jesse Thorn just announced that he's been working on adapting Marc Maron's fantastic WTF podcast for a ten-episode public radio series. It's already been picked up by Chicago's WBEZ—no word yet on if OBP will be airing it, though they will if they have any interest in growing their audience or attracting younger listeners. (Easy for me to say, I know.)

The first episode is posted on Thorn's site—it excerpts the WTF interview with Judd Apatow, one of Maron's best (for bonus charm, it includes footage from interviews that a teenaged Apatow conducted with comedy legends like Gary Shandling). I've been a complete Apatow apologist since hearing it—in the full version, Apatow talks about his excitement over Bridesmaids, which I hope you all saw this weekend because it's charming and great.

In other comedy news, Roseanne Barr's rant in New York Magazine is tough as hell.

UPDATE: OPB has "no plans at present" to air the show, according to whomever runs their Twitter feed. (Journalism!) Go bug 'em about it.
