As Steve mentioned a few weeks ago, Scott Aukerman's popular podcast Comedy Bang! Bang! recently debuted as an IFC show, co-hosted by bandleader Reggie Watts. Now the show has announced a live tour, promising "a mix of live stand-up, character cameos, and improvisational games along with sneak peek clips from the series." I can say with some authority that "improvisational games" is not a phrase that should be used to sell things, but otherwise this sounds fun, and I'm always interested when radio shows reverse engineer themselves into live shows—it's like they're Benjamin Buttoning back to vaudeville. (Radiolab did a great job of that a few months ago, when they brought their almost entirely enjoyable live show about darkness to town.) Comedy Bang! Bang! promises that Aukerman "will joined by a rotating cast of Comedy Bang! Bang! regulars including comedians James Adomian, Tim Heidecker, and Paul F. Tompkins as well as special guests along the way." (Has Tompkins ever performed in Portland? I know there was a Facebook campaign to get him here a few years ago, but I don't remember anything coming of it. It'd be cool if he drew the Portland rotation.)

The tour kicks off at Comic-Con in July, and rolls into Portland's Aladdin Theater on August 2. Ticket went on sale today and you can buy 'em here.
