Next year, Afro-Mexicans will have the option to identify with their roots in Mexicoâs census for the first time. While this particular victory is new, Afro-Mexicans have always existed in spite of the erasure. La Costa Chica explores the rich Afro-Mexican diaspora living on the Pacific coast.
