Oh boy...I wonder how many of the 'black bloc' were actually police provocateurs. Those bandannas over the face really provide a nice cover. Think I'm paranoid and cops haven't been caught multiple times doing this? Watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=St1-WTc1kow
2
@Spindles: I know that police instigating shit happens kind of regularly, but I sort of doubt the PPB is up to that sort of COINTELPRO.
3
Oh yeah Spindles, that mass of hair being lead away in handcuffs really looks like officer friendly to me. It appears he was arrested for attempting to impersonate the Dude, Lebowski.
4
attempting to impersonate the Dude, Lebowski is a Federal offense.
8
Not just the PPB, could the media be involved too? A sort of KOIN6TELPRO?
9
The media, AND Juicy Couture marketing staff.
10
Portland Police have infiltrated multiple groups in the history of Portland. Graham you need to read up on local history. Informants involved in media blogging as well.
11
oh hell!...this is nothing more than the PoPoMoFo's flexing their muscles for their ever-shrinking constituency>>>the rabid Tea Party-sippers and other associated Uber Rightwing Fundiloonie nutjobs that get off on seeing the proverbial "others" getting beat by the cops for being WHAT???>>>>different....so much for local area GROUPTHINKERS...they kick their own asses when they kick asses of the "others"....
12
@ABS: Infilitration and instigation are different things. But then, you're an idiot, so I wouldn't excpect you to know the difference between observation and direct action.

@Bad Robot: Stop huffing gasoline.
13
It would be so awesome if these guys showed up at an oversight hearing wearing their "black bloc" uniforms!
14
the perpetual motion machine of well organized cops and idealistic teenagers.

["Hopefully this will be the year to get you onto a modest pension plan," at least $100,000, Saltzman told Reese, tightly.

The highlight of the affair came when a citizen adviser sitting in for several workshops, Graham, a Mercury regular blogger, ripped into the media for not telling more of a happy story about the bureau, begrudgingly calling stories about shit like police brutality and shootings "newsworthy."

He said people like to see horse patrols, because they're "friendly." (Except maybe if you're homeless.) And that the bureau needs to do "a better job" of getting good news like the training facility and mental health work "on the front page of the Oregonian."]-http://blogtown.portlandmercury.com/Blogto…

@Graham-"an idiot"?. Come on big blogger, is that nice or fair? Pull your head out of City Hall and start thinking clearly.
16
@ Aqua Blue: great, now I'm as confused as you are.
17
@ABS: What the fuck are you talking about? You are making absolutely no sense. Are you saying that I was at some workshops or something? I've got no clue. You're still an idiot.
18
[@ABS: Infilitration and instigation are different things. But then, you're an idiot, so I wouldn't excpect you to know the difference between observation and direct action.]-spelling smart guy?
19
@ABS: What are you talking about? Is your ability to make a point dependant on pointing out spelling mistakes? Good job, you're still an idiot.
20
@ABS - how to you say something 'tightly?' Are you just mashing keys? Are you really Wolfram Alpha?
21
I think offensive littering is what happens when a cop hits you in the face with a club knocking one of your teeth out onto the street... It can also occur when you drop the sign you are holding as you are being tased, if it falls onto the right of way.
22
I think one thing we can all agree on is that this young man in the photo is in dire need of a makeover.
23
I love your boundless puns todd!
24
I like that the Pig-Cop drawing looks like Ganon from the Legend of Zelda. Those Anarchists need some laser swords, or a nice bow and arrow.
25
I love reading these articles, as they remind me why I'm so glad to no longer be working in local media. "Oh, shit, there are only a few of them. Tighten the frame!"

I do, however, wish that they'd pass out a few more "offensive littering" tickets, especially to the guy who keeps leaving his cigarette butts on my sidewalk.
26
@ Spindles, Todd's punbearable.
27
@Dr Jeff: Are you the Dr Jeff of LJ-Fame?
28
999 out of 1000 these 'anarchists' are dumb kids: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAvlFYcWnHc…

But yes Graham, police do dress up and infiltrate groups. Police do wear plain clothes at protests. Police have been know to provocateur violence at protests as an excuse to clamp down. I wouldn't have put anything past Mark Kroeker when he was police chief. he was as dirty as they come and we're good to be rid of him.

Hell, remember the Christmas tree bomber? I'm sure the FBI will recover those tapes that prove it was Osman Mohamud's idea....right.....

Epic police fail

Easy to learn video for Graham. Spell check program will improve your intelligent posts.

Yes, Spindles you know whats going on in PDX.
30
*what's* going on
31
@Spindles: I was agreeing with you. I'm fully aware of the history of provocateurs and infiltration within various activist movements. What I was implying is that the PPB isn't using provoacteur tactics against stupid BlackBlockers. The politics of this town aren't up to the level of creating a Reichstag Fire. You're vastly over-estimating the skills of what the local police are up to in this town. They're too busy shooting homeless people to spend the hours and hours neccesary to infiltrate and turn stupid anarchist kids into actual criminals.

@ABS: I still don't understand what you were talking about with me attending some sort of workshop. Do you want to clarify your meaning, or are you still too stupid to explain your point?
32
So in summary, EVERYONE IS ANGRY! Except the cops, of course, who will happily collect overtime.
33
can somebody post a video link with yakety sax in it? im tired of watching these boring ones with no awesome music
34
@Graham - define "fame."
35
Looks like the police apologists are out in full force on the comment boards today. Do they pay you guys to do this, or is it just on your free time? The police routinely harass, beat, and kill poor people everyday. They're lap dogs to the rich, lackey thugs used to preserve the current social order and make sure people know their place. The police were looking for a fight last night - that was clear to anyone in attendance. They outnumbered the protesters by at least 20:1 - and engaged in taunting and baiting throughout the entire march, before finding a flimsy excuse to charge into the crowd and begin tackling and pepper spraying people. Isn't that the kind of stuff that we're appalled at when it happens in other countries, when the police misuse their power and violently suppress protest? Why the double standard here? Oh, that's right - I forgot - they pay you to leave these comments. For a world without cops! No cops, no bosses - no big losses!
36
"crowd at 40 people"

Yawn! wake me up when there's something to talk about.

@ABS. WTF are you blathering on about? RT
37
Graham is so damned dumb he thinks people "huff" gasoline when in fact, they "sniff" it...get your facts together there buddy, or some here would say..."get your shit together"....cheers!
38
as "Spindles" mentioned Mark Kroeker, let's not forget that this clown was reputed to have worked together with Darrel Gates, as then young LAPD officers, to oversee the Robert F. Kennedy assass-ination investigation and deliberately botched it to come back with the "conspiratorial predetermined" lone-assassin craziness that made no sense then, and less as the years rolled by...the two of them became "made men" at LAPD as both rose in rank rapidly thereafter....Gates to become Chief and Kroeker to be his deputy, who was also in charge of Ramparts Station...both botched their jobs during the 1992 riots and exacerbated the situation to it's ultimate volatility...as Gates was forced to retire, Kroeker wasn't as easy to push out the door, and he stayed till the Ramparts Station fiasco blew up in LAPD's collective face slinging shit on all involved...Kroeker somehow managed to con the Very Cats, herself, into making him Chief here, and it wasn't long till he jerry-rigged the system to dumbdown cop qualifications to ease hiring of outside applicants that were in the know as to the rightwing tilt at PPB and hired on a lot of white-trash dudes from LAPD that had a lot of Ramparts Station stink all over 'em selves and in essense, gave them safe haven up and away from California and the District Attorney's probe into the corruption that abounded...if one is fair and looks carefully at whom the PPB "bad boy" rogues really are...you'll find a lot of 'em are Ramparts Station white-trash that have no business being on the streets anywhere, let alone Portland...enuf "history" to suit ya for today>>?????

Please wait...
