In between selling packs of cigarettes, Michael sees a lot of motor vehicles. After filling them up and watching them go all day, it's no surprise he's selected a few favorites:

•Original Hummer: "The ultimate four-wheel-drive rig."

•'67 Ford Shelby GT 500: "It's the ultimate hot rod. It's fast. It looks good."

•Roger Bourget Motorcycles: "He's a West Coast motorcycle designer, and he builds these awesome bikes that just have really nice curves to them, and they sound really awesome."

•'64 Chevy Cheetah: "They're very rare, and they're fast."

•Lamborghini: "I've always liked those. They have a nice little sleek look to them."

Why read on the couch at home when you can look mysterious and interesting at a café? Tina has some intriguing favorites, if you want a little reading with your coffee.

Out magazine: "I read it even though I'm not a gay man. They have really great writers, and I think it's just really funny and good to read. And it has cute boys!"

Cometbus zine: "It's Aaron, the writer, from Berkeley, just traveling around, meeting people, and writing little essays about life."

•assorted anarchist zines: "People bring me zines, and they're like 'You should read this,' so then I read them, and they're just crappy! Who are the morons that wrote this shit? They totally don't know what they're talking about, which can be very funny. So they're good for that."

The Sandman by Neil Gaiman: "People tend to associate the graphic novel with 'comic book dork' or D&D people dressed up like fairies. But it's actually really amazing."

Demian by Herman Hesse: "It kind of reminds me of Catcher In the Rye, but with more deep meaning to it. It's just a beautiful tale."
