While she might listen to Belle and Sebastian and Galaxy 500, Molli also reads books on the music scenes of D.C. punk and communes. Here are a few of her picks:

- Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground 1981-1991 by Michael Azerrad: "A two volume set on the bands that came out of the '80s punk scene--which weren't taken seriously at the time, but then became legendary."

- Despite Everything: A Cometbus Omnibus by Aaron Cometbus: "Early issues of the Cometbus zine capture the glory years of the Bay Area scene, the rise of LookOut Records, and the support of the Gilman Street Collective."

- Document: A Story of Hope by various contributors: "The Hope Collective in Ireland covers a couple of decades of the underground music scene in Dublin. It's also a vegan cookbook."

- Dance of Days: Two Decades of Punk in the Nation's Capital by Mark Andersen & Mark Jenkins: "About the D.C. punk scene, The Riot Grrl Revolution, Revolution Summer. Talks about the Positive Force Collective."
