Record Store Day is happening next week on April 17 and that means you have some planning to do. The annual event is commemorating its third year of working hard to keep independent record stores from disappearing by presenting audiophiles with a day of special CD and vinyl releases, in-store performances, celebrity DJ sets, and (sometimes, if you are lucky) snacks!

In addition to the myriad of special releases made available exclusively for Record Store Day, recently regrouped Lollapalooza headliners Soundgarden plan to re-release their single "Hunted Down" as a seven-inch, Modest Mouse will be offering a vinyl re-release of The Moon & Antartica, and Muse will release all three movements of "Exogenesis: Symphony" on a limited edition twelve-inch. Oh, and some band from Liverpool is releasing something as well.

Get your day planners out, because here's what's going on in our neck of the woods, Portland.
