Not only does the Portland Cello Project have a brand new album on the horizon—the excellent Thousand Words, out July 20—they have a pair of release shows planned. The first, on July 8, will be an intimate affair at The Old Church, and then they'll follow that with a cover-friendly dance party at the Doug Fir the following night.

We were given the option of choosing which show we wanted to give away tickets for, and considering how dignified and classy our readers are—what?—we chose the Old Church show. Don't let us down, Mercury readers. I mean, would it kill you to tuck in your shirt and go to church this one time? Shows at the Old Church are always great, as that venue has all the good things about church (a beautiful building and serene inside setting) with none of the bad (Jesus, having to put dollar bills in a wicker basket).

To win your way into the Cello Project's upscale release event on July 8, just comment below and explain why you deserve to win. The best comment by Wednesday at noon will win a pair of tickets. Good luck.
