This is the best kind of news. The Thermals have just announced their sixth album is ready and done! They've been recording with John Agnello (that's him on the right), who's also worked with Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. They finished mixing the record with Agnello in Hoboken, New Jersey, on October 28, reportedly just hours before Sandy made landfall. Fortunately the band, Agnello, and the new album made it through safely and drily.

So, you have questions. Fire away!

What is the name of the new album?
We don't know yet!

What label will it be on?
We don't know yet!

When does it come out?
We don't know yet! (The band is hoping for an early spring 2013 release date.)

What does it sound like?
We don't know yet! But here's what the Thermals themselves had to say: "Everything Thermals fans know and love about this band. It's like a cross between two of our best-known and -loved records, More Parts Per Million (Sub Pop, 2003) and The Body, The Blood, The Machine (Sub Pop, 2006.) It's loud, fast, incredibly scary and undeniably catchy."

When will the Thermals play songs from the new record?
We don't know yet! They'll be at SXSW and we'll keep you posted on a hometown show.

That's all we got for now. You can commence blissfully freaking out. We'll post new music as soon as it turns up.
