On WBUR's Dear Sugar Radio, writers Cheryl Strayed and Steve Almond offer their "radical empathy" to listeners in need. For the Portland edition of the show's 'The Writers Resist" installment, Strayed and Almond will be joined by Samiya Bashir, Wendy Chin-Tanner, Rene Denfeld, Zahir Janmohamed, Cooper Lee Bombardier, Cari Luna, Sam Roxas-Chua, and Lidia Yuknavitch. With live music from Colin Meloy, Wonderly, and Angela Freeman.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to a range of crucial Oregon nonprofits who are working to protect human rights, free speech, social justice, artistic expression, and the environment.
