The Portland Youth Philharmonic celebrates the 100th birthdays of Leonard Bernstein and PJS/PYP’s second Musical Director Jacob Avshalomov with a program including Brahms' Tragic Overture and Avshalomov's The Taking of T’ung Kuan. Mezzo-soprano soloist Laura Beckel Thoreson lends her voice to a performance of Bernstein’s Jeremiah Symphony.
