This one-day book fair and live reading / discussion event used to be called Wordstock, but no one can deny that Portland Book Festival has grown into its own cool beast. Since it’s only one day, it’s easy to splurge on a bunch of books, get them signed by your favorite authors, and sit in on a talk or two. Then you still have Sunday for laundry and “Book Church,” which is what I call making too much breakfast and sitting around with a huge pile of unread books.
