Robin Corbo: The Singing Squid Procession

Tom McCall Waterfront Park Southwest
Fri., April 8, 12-1 p.m. 2011

A giant squid invades downtown Portland! Robin Corbo's large puppet will make its way from the Waterfront to the Pioneer Court House to the South Park Blocks, to the tune of sea shanties. Using the Humboldt squid's altered migration patterns as a symbol, the piece in part aims for climate change awareness. Corbo is responsible for a number of Portland-based murals, including the piece "Women Making History" on Interstate Avenue.
