I have read that our Constitution is the among the actual oldest, if not THE oldest, living document of its' kind. The French have changed its' own version how many times, the Germans has only been around since the end of WW2, etc etc etc.
Something to consider when pompous Europeans tell you how young our country is - or especially when they claim we have no culture here - obviously mixing up history with culture.
It is still a pretty cool place, all things considered.
