For years the rumors swirled about a proposed H&M in Portland, and when they finally dropped one into the heart of downtown, Portland went out of its way to prove that all the hand wringing about whether our market was strong enough to sustain it was unnecessary. On the most recent downtown retail media tour I took, just prior to the holidays, we were told that the Pioneer Place location had far exceeded its projected sales, that seems to have been borne out in the fact that the monolithic Swedish purveyor of pleather and flammables is swinging open the doors to a new, second location at Lloyd Center (well, third if you count the one at Washington Square, and fourth if you count Clackamas). We are now officially riddled with H&M, so I guess the lesson here is be careful what you wish for.

We've got the details on that along with some more personality-driven retail developments, sales, trunk shows, and more over on ye olde MOD.
