This is awesome, thank you!

Paper Moon Books on 47th and SE Belmont is a smart, eclectic and affordable used bookstore that's been around for years. Highly recommended.
3
Friends of the Multnomah County Library has a great store on the first floor of Central. I love visiting bookstores. There are a few others not mentioned here but I don't know what their names are. I have yet to check out Paper Moon Books.
5
Ampersand on Alberta is a big miss on your list. Lovely photobooks, some that they publish and some from other publishers. Plus photography exhibitions.
6
I would add Ampersand on Alberta. It used to be 80% art books and 20% assorted gewgaws, but it has recently expanded and is about 95% Fancy Art Books You Can't Afford Especially Since You'll Thumb Through Them Like Two Times If You're Being Honest With Yourself.

This means it's a perfect store to buy books as a gift.

Don't forget Vintage Books in Vancouver. Sure, it's in a tucked away corner of a strip mall. BUT it's a pillar of our Vantucky community. They were indie before indie was indie (I think). Anyhow, they are big and beautiful and we sure love 'em. AND THEY HAVE 2 CATS!!!
6613 East Mill Plain Boulevard Vancouver, WA 98661 or http://www.vintage-books.com/. Please support them as we want them to stay around for many years to come.
9
okay, who wants to go to Vancouver (AGAIN), Vintage Books sounds awesome.
10
Thank you! I love Powell's, but I also love supporting other fabulous book vendors.
11
Thanks for this!

Also, BOOK STORE CATS ARE THE BEST!
12
YAY!! The written word is still in existence + Popular, besides!!!
Carry on!!! O\O
13
The only thing needed to make Wallace Books perfect is a store cat.
14
No mention of Laughing Horse?
15
You missed the always awesome Daedalus Books at 21st and Flanders. Great stuff!
16
Expand your book shopping excursion and check out Jan's Paperbacks in Aloha and The Arcade Book Exchange in downtown Hillsboro.

Here's an updated list of bookstores I've visited since moving to Portland in 2008 http://a-semi-blogged-life.blogspot.com/20…
