Is it really that they're the "two worst genetic engineers on the planet" or just that they are wildly unethical in the face of groundbreaking science? Hubris of man, pride goeth before a fall, etcetera. Creating a creature from protein twists (even one that looks like the special ed daughter of Billy Corgan and Moby) is a pretty neat achievement for anyone, so they're obviously skilled to a certain degree, right?
