One of the things I enjoy about the original version of The Thing is that, when the monster is discovered in creepy tentacle form, it's not a danger to the cast. They pretty easily blowtorch it every time (except when they're tied up by a justifiably miffed Mr. Russell). The monster is at its scariest when YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT OR WHO IT IS.
I'm somewhat dissappointed to hear that it's the opposite in this movie.
Does a man use a defibrillator an infested/transformed crony, then break through his chest while leaning through, only to be attacked on the face by a monster?
Because that was fucking great in the 1982 OG version. But generally, I agree with Fruit Cup- the ending, sharing a bottle without knowing who you're sharing with...that gave me *that feeling* that I haven't known since a Bad Brains concert.
