Rae’s Lakeview Lounge in Slabtown has either shut its own doors or someone else has closed them for them.

The restaurant, popular among Slabtown residents, occupied a small corner in a largely residential neighborhood at 1900 NW 27th. It was known for dinner/diner classics like burgers and beef stroganoff and for its weekend brunch where diners could score some pretty damn good biscuits and gravy.

We reached out to Todd Morey, who’s owned and operated the business with his wife Rae since 2012, but have yet to hear back. The restaurant’s website and Facebook pages have been scrubbed/deleted, which means currently it's difficult to ascertain when or why the restaurant closed.

There's a sign taped to Rae’s front entrance, which read “Restaurant Closed, Landlord in possession.” On the sign there's the phone number of a local property management company called City Houses. We reached out to them as well, but have yet to hear back from the property manager managing that parcel of land.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.
