Sadly, Hama is not what it used to be. Shige-san (the master chef) is no longer there, and they have a new non-Japanese owner. No one even speaks the language. It's really painful to see such a wonderful hole in the wall sushi joint dissapear and a big loss for portland. Now you can't get high quality sushi with ballpark budget anywhere in town.
