Yummy and creative...NOT worth 8 bucks for a tofu sammich!

Sounds good to me. Once again I reiterate that anyone over the age of ten who refers to a sandwich as a "sammy" or "sammich" needs to be smacked. It really is'nt cute, it's annoying

Peoples sandwich rules. I've done 4 or 5 Hammer and Pickles, all delicious, just sayin.

@The Showstopper

Can you bend your smacking rules for food critics who are forced to write the word over and over in a review?

I agree with the sammy comment - I don't even like it when people named Samantha refer to themselves as Sammy. However, I love the Argento Arrabiata and the curly fries (also good with the house-made mayo).

I was put off by the hazelnuts on their tofu sandwich. Too much protein.

Beep Beep Billie and other pdx reviewers. The reality of why Portland restaurant meal price sare high is because YOU PEOPLE KEEP VOTING IN NO SALES TAX. Where do you surmise the void is pulled from? Small businesses take the biggest hit. Behind the scenes and far from your reality your dear state and city raise taxes , fees and license fees arbitrarily and on a regular. No cap, no legislation, they have no lobby. FAR more than most other larger urban areas. Employee taxes in Oregon raised again last year + a claw back tax you voted in, are one of the HIGHEST of five for the US. Min. wage higher than most states where living costs are higher than pdx. The city of Portland added a $100 fee out of the blue to the QUARTERLY water bill for a restaurant I managed when I lived in pdx. No explain when asked, JUST PAY IT. Just one example of many I witnessed. Do you ever think of this when you complain? And every local VENDOR that supplies the restaurant raises prices also BECAUSE OF CITY GOVERNMENT MISMANAGEMENT costs. Insurance fee are higher for businesses in Oregon because of state and city mismanagement. That gets expensive and all this is passed on to you. Commercial leases are far higher because the state is adrift in a revenue mess. That is passed along. Establishment owners make far less revenue than they would in most other states and that is a proven fact. On top of that they get battered by the constant nasty reviews about high prices.
Before you blast away on your laptop GET THE REAL STORY.
You all should be directing your complaints to your beloved and fiscally irresponsible
elected officials.
So glad I moved away and work for a small business out east where the owner is able to pull more than a slave taxed wage for 100 hours a week.
Portland pro small biz? The biggest laughable lie ever.
Keep smokin.
And know you will never see such an expose of these issues in your beloved FREE PRESS.
Chuckle..

It's hard to take someone with the screen name "Sambo" seriously. We're all glad you moved too.
