Portland Monthly's Dive-In Theater

Don't tell me there's nothing to do in Portland. This Tuesday, Portland Monthly magazine continues its one-of-a-kind, poolside film fest at McCormick Pier. To make matters tastier, the culinary wizards at clarklewis do all the catering. The chefs prepare special entrées to match each film (Jaws saw us eating shark fin tacos), and I can only imagine what they'll whip up for Tuesday's screening of Hitchcock's Rear Window. The ambience is elegant and fun, and there's a full bar; patrons are invited to sip designer cocktails on the patio or take a dip in the pool while the film is projected onto a tremendous 14-by-10-foot screen. Admission is a $5 donation to Cascade AIDS Project, and the fabulous dinner is only $3-$4. Who says summer's over? EJ

Tuesday September 7th, McCormick Pier, 1040 NW Naito Pkway, opens at 7pm, films starts at dusk, $5 donation

No Fish! Go Fish! Sandbar

3862 SE Hawthorne, Tues-Sat 10 pm-1 am, $3 martinis from 10-11:30 pm

No Fish! Go Fish! has recently joined the Portland nightlife with a late happy hour and theme nights (Tues-Thurs 10 pm) to boot. Tuesday is Venus night, for women who love women who love Apple Pie Tinis (vodka or gin, with homemade apple, cinnamon, and ginger syrup). Wednesday is game night, featuring boardgames, cocktails, and a chance to spin the wheel and win 10-cent drinks. And Thursday, as you may have heard, is the ultra-popular strip Jeopardy, where local boys and girls lose clothes when they forget to answer in the form of a question. All that, plus No Fish! has a fantastic new happy hour menu featuring spring rolls and the wonderful Korean-themed Kimche Pancakes. KS
