New Year in the Park
April marks the beginning of a new year for Cambodian, Thai, Lao, and Burmese cultures. Since 2014, New Year in the Park has hosted an authentic festival full of music, performance, food, and sports to celebrate Southeast Asian communities locally and beyond. This yearâs free festivities will take place on Saturday, April 28 at Glenhaven Park from 9:30 am to 6 pm.
Opportunities and commitment: Day-of volunteers are needed to help with set-up, clean-up, and general event activities. Flexible shift times are available and no experience is necessary. Lunch and a T-shirt will be provided. Schools with the most volunteers will win a pizza party, and high school seniors and college students will be entered into a drawing for a $500 scholarship.
