Legislators absolutely should not be allowed to walk out in a hissy fit. They should lose their jobs. Fuck being fined or penalized, you walk out of your job, YOU LOSE YOUR FUCKING JOB. Why are we paying so many people on every level of government who do nothing but collect their paychecks? Voting people out doesn't work (especially not with more and more manipulation of whose votes count). Behavior has to be addressed when it happens. Walk out? Stay out. Commit treason? Immediately go to prison. The ousted loser Republican rep. who let MAGAts into the Capitol building in Salem got removed from his seat on the legislature. Time to go a step beyond that. Refuse to do your job or do something that directly goes against the oath you took? IMMEDIATE JOB LOSS. We have allowed, for far too long, assholes to do as they please while we pay and pay and pay. All of the money spent on paying these assholes would be better spent on paying people who actually get things done.
