This would be interesting if I hadn't already made up my mind for who I'm voting for.

say what you will about Portland, at least people enjoy local politics. If the rest of the US were on a similar track i think we might be in better shape. Vote locally, regicide (4-8 years ago) nationally!

Depressing. I thought Brady would sound like a different sort of candidate, but now she sounds the worst.

On Think Out Loud, I think Hales seemed the most practical, but he's been pimping streetcars for a decade. We need more rail projects like a hole in the head.

The great Portland pander off of 2012!

More rail projects, the better. Until we get back to where we were in 1925.
6
Blabby: Hales isn't proposing any more rail projects.

I like the compost program it sound as though Brady would do away with it or cut back on it. Re rail projects, look at a London Underground map if you want to see a real rail system that serves every section of a city. We have a long way to go, buses and cars won't cut it when gas is 10 dollars a gallon.

NSM? you mean: http://www.nsm88.org ??
I thought there was something off about her.

The streetcar isn't a "rail system" folks; it's a toy. It has next to nothing to do with transportation.

I live in the Pearl, built largely because of the streetcar, and as I ride it to work everyday, I went from a two car family to a one car faimily. My streetcars are often standing room only, no matter what time of day. Not a toy by any means!
