Monday, I walked my housing stipend check to the bank, only to find it had come out of my pocket en route to the atm. 2.5 miles of back and forth searching yielded nothing. Check was endorsed, I feared the worst. Called my tribe the next morning to have the check cancelled and wait for a new one to arrive. Checked the mail today, Wednesday, to find a pink envelope with my check and a sweet note inside. "M, I found this on the sidewalk walking home. I hope this finds you well, T.F. " Well "T" you touched me, and even tho the check is no good now, I'm sending you a gift card and a thank you back with the return address. Pay it forward, be good to each other PDX.
