Just tune it out. Historically, we are actually living in the most relatively peaceful time in human history. Crime rates are also lower, and have been steadily declining for more than a decade. You just think it's more terrible because we have greater access to news and information, and the click-baity frantic way it is always presented to us. Things are actually pretty chill. Until global warming kills us, anyway.
