It's not like I've listened to it enough to give a proper critique but man, I just cannot get behind country music. I suppose the most sensible reason is that there's a lot of imagery that I just can't relate to. You show me a field of wheat and a muddy truck and all I see is a field of wheat and a muddy truck, nothing more, nothing less.

Glassycans - a lot of the issues that many people have with "country" stems from the fact that what people think of as "country" is basically the backstreet boys with a fiddle. A bunch of fake crap that all sounds the same, because all the songs are written by the same professional songwriters in Nashville who are trying to make the most annoying, poppiest crap possible to sell on the radio. Check out Whitey Morgan and the 78's, or Hank Williams III for two good examples of modern day country (honky tonk) artists.
