Actually it's the living bovine that accounts for 18% of the methane in our atmosphere which is 30 times more destructive then carbon emissions, 80% of our national grain consumption, and takes 30,000 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef. Switch to chicken and make beef a special occasion and you will reduce your carbon footprint by 400% through diet alone. Forget about those cute shiny eyed cattle and start worrying about humans surviving the next century. We're the ones who need saving.
