I know not everyone is in the position to donate large sums of money or brand new items to a Children's Hospital. However please know when you drop off bags and bags of used toys, stuffed animals and blankets they go straight into the trash. The infection control policies at these hospitals are very strict and used items can potentially make a child with a poor immune system even sicker. I am not saying your things or you are dirty, Hospitals receive a lot of nice items that have been "gently loved", but they are still used items. They do not have the staff or the capability to wash and sanitize used items.
Your items would be appreciated by so many other venues that can actually use them.
I felt so guilty tossing these things out when I knew some child somewhere could really benefit from them. It is against most hospital policy to donate donated items to other organizations.
