If your planning on overthrowing the government you might want to arm yourself with something more lethal than a Pepsi can. In the meantime, the rest of us are going to continue living our lives (that are really only being philosophically assulted by trump) until it's time to vote again and then hopefully have a better platform, strategy, and candidate in place so we can counteract all the nonsense he's up to.

Who made you the authority on what "true democracy" is, Aurelius? That's arrogant as fuck for someone pretending to be salt of the earth. Protesting isn't an act of bravery anymore. It's turned into a joke. I don't like that it has, but it fucking has. You want a medal for skipping work and going on a walk with 500 people who think the exact same thing as you? You better not look outside your immediate circle jerk of congratulatory self assurance, because the rest of us aren't having it.

Identity politics failed. And for the record, good riddance. It was beaten by a populist, nationalist agenda that fear mongered gullible people into voting against their own self interest so how great could it have been to begin with?Figure out how to fix that and come up with a strategy that unites ALL people and you can have your unchecked unicorn ride to progressive utopia back.

In the meantime, i'm going to continue to stay abreast of and vote on local politics, hire hardworking refugees from sierra leone, say hi to all my neighbors regardless of their race, sex, sexual preference or legal status, raise my sons to be hardworking, respectful men who do the right thing even when no one is looking, and speak up when people are saying stupid shit and passing it off as gospel. You know...live my life.
