I hear you! I walk to work every day and usually look at people and say hi or at least just acknowledge their human presence. Most everyone will unwaveringly look straight ahead, others may stare at the fascinating sidewalk at foot , and still others will turn their heads completely away clearly 'voicing' their displeasure with such behavior. Geez, its not like I'm walking around staring at everyone but, people are interesting.
