Facebook and Arts Tax

You sound like someone who could have used some education in the arts :-/

You're an adult bitching about 35 dollars a year, because deep down you don't think kids deserve cool things or cool opportunities. You're a fucking loser.

All IA does is give miserable and plain people a platform to seek out attention for otherwise everyday, commonplace lives, then makes it look ever so fascinating and poignant because it is publicized. It's just a news story for the masses that anyone can have a spot to be in the Merc.

How about a math or science tax? Last time I checked art doesn't pay the bills too well. That's why they moonlight as baristas and dishwashers. Meanwhile engineers get paid 6 figures sometimes. They are the only ones who can afford your $550 Jackson Pollock ripoff.

FYI, nothing behind the arts tax or funding arts education for K-5 students implies the intent to steer children toward an arts-based career. They'll have another 7 years of public education not including another 4-7 in college to make that decision for themselves and whether or not it's worth it. You're making a pretty big leap from letting 10 year old kids have music class to them growing up to be a broke artist - shitty stereotype anyways.
